Lullaby Lounge

4th Trimester” 12 Week Cohort postpartum cohort

Lullaby Lounge is grounded in the understanding that trust, culture, and community are essential to improving maternal health outcomes. The program uses singing, storytelling, and facilitated dialogue to create spaces where Black mothers can restore their voices and cultivate emotional wellbeing.

Drawing from the rich musical traditions of the African Diaspora; including gospel, soul, jazz, R&B, spirituals, and call-and-response, the program affirms participants' cultural identities while supporting confidence, self-expression, and resilience throughout the perinatal and postpartum journey.

Participants engage in guided vocal practices, story circles, and conversations with birthworkers, healthcare professionals, and community leaders, while the broader Black Divas media platform amplifies these experiences to reduce stigma, increase awareness, and foster trust between Black women and health systems.

By combining evidence-informed arts practices with professional storytelling and public broadcast, the adaptation seeks to improve maternal mental health, encourage engagement with healthcare resources, and contribute to more equitable Black maternal health outcomes.
